Most precious and loving, Heavenly Father,
We praise you today for the gift of our children. For the perfect way you designed and created them. For the wonderful way you have provided for them. And, yes, Lord, for the precious way you love them. Even more than we love them, which we confess is hard to fathom.
Forgive us for all the times we have lacked faith and trust in your plans for their lives. For the times we have run ahead with our dreams for them instead of coming to you first. And, yes, Father, for every misspoken word to them or misguided plan, we are truly sorry.
Please, Lord, place wisdom and your perfect peace in their minds. Replace all lies from the enemy with your perfect truth.
Grant them clear vision to see you working in their lives and in the lives of others. Help their faith to grow as they experience your presence throughout their days and your protection over their nights.
Open their ears so they might hear your voice above the noise of this world. Drowning out those voices that could cause their lives to pursue any thing other than you.
Place kindness and encouragement on their tongues. Give them words to speak life and truth into those they may encounter along the way.
Fill their hearts with love and compassion so they might actually share your love with others. Every. Single. Day.
May forgiveness be woven deeply into their spirit, so they might be full of grace like Jesus. Not burdened by resentment or bitterness, rather overflowing with graciousness in all they do and say.
Grant them good health and strength in their physical bodies, all the while granting them favor in their spiritual walk with you. Renew them in times of frustration, doubt or defeat with your gentle, yet powerful touch, Father.
Replace their doubts, fears and insecurities with courage and a confident understanding of your power that lives within them. And, yes, Lord, thank you that your power is greater than any single thing this world can offer them.
Use their hands and feet to do good works wherever they go. Placing others’ needs above their own. Working at all their endeavors as if working for you, Lord.
Guide their hearts to put you first in all things. And, to love others as themselves as they humbly serve you.
Place straight ways in their future so the paths they choose will lead only to holiness and righteousness for your name’s sake. Please protect them from any attempt of the enemy to draw them off course.
All these things and so much more, Lord, we ask for our children.
We are grateful they are your creation and you hold their lives in the very palm of your hand.
May we as parents entrust them to you completely as you purpose their lives for your glory.
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than any of us can ask or imagine be all the glory and praise forever.
In Jesus’ precious name,
Amen.
