As another day of this season of Advent comes to pass, may our eyes be opened to the beautiful story unfolding as we each wait. To the wonderful promises of God still yet to be unwrapped. And, to all those around us who may need the only gift that truly matters this Christmas.
Jesus.
So often our days are filled with purchases and wrappings and things that last only for a brief moment in the bustle of a busy Christmas morning.
What if this year our days were filled with a true gift-giving plan? One purposed by a heart of generosity for eternal gifts. With everlasting value. Ones that will never break, be lost or forgotten.
And not just any gifts, but those found only through the very promises of God. Weaving in the hope and truth of our most beautiful gift, Jesus, in every way possible this season.
No purchased gift in a box will ever multiply and be more, but the eternal gifts of Jesus can’t be contained. They multiply in the hands of His disciples as if they were the loaves and the fishes.
What if faith, hope, truth and love were shared openly with those we encounter? With anyone? Even if only one tiny mention of His great name.
If only we could give everyone the sweet gift of Jesus!
Yes, Father open our eyes to see those who need Jesus. Give us the opportunity to be generous during this season. And, not with things, but rather with the gifts of our Lord and Savior.
Grace. Peace. Mercy. Compassion. Truth. Joy. And, love. The greatest gift of all.
He provides so many precious gifts. We are so blessed simply by His very Presence.
May our hearts be in tune to His precious gifts and purpose this season. And may those treasured gifts multiply into the hearts and lives of others.
Not just in Advent, but always.
‘Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.’ 1 Corinthians 16:14
‘The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.’ Lamentations 3:22,23
