“Take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ.” {2 Corinthians 10:5}

Yes, this one. It gets me sometimes. The enemy is after our thoughts. He wants us to run down the rabbit trail of ‘what ifs’ and ‘whys’ and ‘how could she’s’. He genuinely uses our ‘perception’ of circumstances to control our attitudes, actions and assumptions.

I have to train myself to remember that he is the author of lies. He wants nothing more than to cause me to experience fear, defeat and condemnation day in and day out.

Christ wants us to focus on our security in Him, our victory in Him and our forgiveness in Him. If we can get the enemy out of our head and keep Christ at the forefront of our minds, our lives will never be the same.

Thank you, Father for all the good things your love offers ~ peace and provision and protection from the enemy. Please help us to see him for what he is and guard our minds against his lies. Help us to be so focused on you and your truth that there is no room in our minds for anything else. Guide our hearts and minds as we seek your peace, provision and protection every day. Help us to never forget that you offer all we need to take every thought captive and be obedient to Christ.
