With school days upon us, this verse is so important to remember, especially for our children.
I tend to use it often. My boys might say ‘too often‘.
Week 10
Summer Bible Memory Verse“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.” ~ James 1:2
As a parent, we all would love to rush in and “fix” those trials or difficulties for them; however, God’s word clearly reminds us why we all need them from time to time.
“because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” ~James 1:3,4
To develop perseverance.
Didn’t make the grade? Developing perseverance.
Sitting on the bench? Learning perseverance.
Didn’t get the job? Producing perseverance.
Learning to find joy in those hard times is certainly not easy for any one, but the thought of becoming ‘mature and complete, not lacking anything‘ is definitely more important for us to focus on than the problem.
What are we learning through those times? How can we encourage one another to persevere even when times are hard?
Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid trials. They will come.
Learning God’s word is true helps us to know He has a beautiful plan even in the most difficult of times.
